Public Information Meetings Announced for New Affordable Homes on Walnut Street in Fostoria

FOSTORIA, OH — The Seneca County Land Bank invites community members to attend upcoming public information meetings to learn more about the Fostoria Welcome Home Ohio Program, which offers new, affordable homeownership opportunities on Walnut Street in Fostoria.

The meetings will take place at the Fruth Room at the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library on:

  • Tuesday, January 21 from 4:30–6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 24 from 12:00–1:30 p.m.

These meetings are open to anyone who may be interested in applying and wants to learn more about whether this opportunity could be a good fit for them.

During the meetings, attendees will:

  • Learn about the Welcome Home Ohio Program and qualification requirements
  • Receive applications and guidance on how to apply
  • View interior and exterior photos of two of the Walnut Street homes, which are representative of all five homes available
  • Get one-on-one assistance with application questions and next steps

The program includes five newly constructed homes located at 1310, 1314, 1318, 1322, and 1326 Walnut Street. These homes offer modern layouts, new appliances, and the opportunity for long-term, owner-occupied homeownership in Fostoria .

Applicants must meet basic program requirements related to household income and the ability to obtain financing. However, the meetings are designed to walk residents through the process step-by-step and help determine eligibility. Attending does not commit anyone to applying and is strongly encouraged for those who want help understanding their options.

“Homeownership can feel overwhelming, but this program is meant to make the process clear and supportive,” said Sarah Stephens Krupp, on behalf of the Fostoria Community Improvement Corporation and the Seneca County Land Bank. “If you’re unsure whether you qualify, these meetings are the best place to start.”

Application packets will be available at the meetings, at the Fostoria Learning Center, and by request via email to: projects@fostoriaedc.org.

Applications for the Fostoria Welcome Home Ohio Program are currently open. Residents who cannot attend but would like more information or application assistance may contact Sarah Stephens Krupp, projects@fostoriaedc.org or call 419-435-7789.
