Job Opening: Executive Director

Reports to: Fostoria Economic Development President

Job Summary:

This position reports to the President of the Fostoria Economic Development Corporation, working to develop and customize the unique niche of the Fostoria Learning Center.  The Executive Director will work to create relevant and accessible learning opportunities through the Fostoria Learning Center for the citizens of Fostoria and the surrounding areas.

 

Major Duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Fostoria Learning Center
  • Develop relationships with area schools, higher education providers, government agencies, and local business/industry to provide relevant educational accessibility
  • Assess the existing programs as well as future programs, including conducting assessments and maintaining all data associated with the assessments
  • Manage and oversee Operating Budget for FLC
  • Coordinate the implementation and marketing of all programs
  • Work with partners to develop additional revenue sources
  • Plan and execute events and fundraising opportunities for FLC programs and projects
  • Attend meetings and events as necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or a like field of study; work experience is also preferred
  • Marketing skills to promote events and participation
  • Knowledge in reading and understanding profit & loss statements as well as balance sheets
  • Skill in dealing with the public and private enterprises
  • Skill in verbal and written communication

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to coordinate and manage a number of projects simultaneously using effective time management and problem solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with educational institutions, local business, non-profits, and community members

 

Additional Information:

  • 40 hours/week
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s Licenseflc-rendering
